Phrag After-Glo

Phrag After-Glo is the cross Phrag Eric Young x Phrag Sorcerer's Apprentice. This plant was purchased from Waldor Orchids -- thanks David !

The plant is in a 4" round pot and has 1 old fan and 1 new fan. The new fan has a spread of 28 inches. And it looks like two new growth spikes are getting started for the next season. The flower spike is 24 inches tall, carrying the one flower and a second bud.

The flower has a spread of 6-3/4 inches.

I think I have found my niche -- time to sell some of my catts, dens and oncidiums to make room for more phrags !!!

Here is another good one if you like the reds. Phrag. Sorcerer's Fire (Andean Fire 'Michelle Lee' AM/AOS x Sorcerer's Apprentice 'Fantastic' 4N).

I bought it in bloom and am hoping that I can get it to rebloom. I am a novice at Phrags and Paphs. I got it from Marilyn LeDoux at Windy Hill Gardens.

Connie, how have the phrags been doing for you?

My avatar is from Marilyn LeDoux at Windy Hill Gardens. Phrag Robin Redbreast, (Phrag besseae 'Esther Nies' AM/AOS x Robert Palm 'Windy Hill' AM/AOS). They have made some great crosses.

Phrags are a nice niche to be in! They're like potato chips, you can't buy just one.

Nice plant you have there!

I, too, am slowly being pulled into the Phrag (and Paph) devotee direction. That plant looks like one I got recently Phrag Lemoinierianum 'Glen Eyrie' (calurum x sedenii).

You might also want to check out Lutz Rollke (besseae x boissierianum) as it has some of the most peach / yellow shades I have ever seen.

I tried to upload pix, but forgot the magic steps...

I won't buy any more until I get at least one of mine to re-bloom. I have about 7 and none have re-bloomed for me. :( I don't have the touch yet.
