Can I save & reuse water for Vandas?

I have to soak my two new Vandas everyday. The water is still very clear and seems like a waste to throw it away. I wonder if I can reuse the same water multiple times? And what about the water with fertilizer?

Thanks!

Hi, lots of people will tell you not to... but to be honest I have been doing that for 2 years & my plants flower every year....

Some people "dunk" vanda in a bucket filled with water or diluted fertilizer.
The danger is transmitting disease from one plant to another.

Thanks! My two Vandas share a "bath" in the same bucket 20 mins in the morning. Would it be OK if I separate them in two different buckets but still use the same water for each plant so they don't spread disease?

Yes - that sounds fine.

That is exactly what I recommend....and have done. I reuse the water until it starts looking a little funky. Usually the water is good for about a week.

Thank you all! I will find another bucket and separate them from now on :)

I did it successfully for years when I had just a few indoor orchids. Once you get over 5 or 6, I think the risk goes up considerably. Just like with insurance, everyone has a different tolerance for risk, so do it as long as you're comfortable with the risk.
