So here is my first phal! She is a noid and she was on sale at Safeway for $15 lol. It's ironic my most expensive orchid is an on sale one from Safeway :rofl::rofl::rofl: LOL!!!!!!!! And sorry for the one picture the rest failed to go on.

Hi Mike, she is very pretty, love that yellow lip. I think most of us get our first Phals from a hardware store or supermarket. I got mine from Bunnings which is like Home Depot, 40+ Phals later.............lol
Mind you the Phals at Bunnings range from AU$30-$60 depending on the size/spikes, not cheap. Orchids are expensive here in Western Australia because of our quarantine laws. My most beautiful Phal is also a noid, got her from a florist shop in a mall. She cost me AU$50 in April and has only just dropped one of her blooms. She also has two more spikes growing rapidly and will be blooming in a few weeks time. |
Thank you very much RosieFuture=) What are the quarantine laws for in Australia?

Congrats on your first phal...she's lovely.

Or the same one lol. How I hate technology! LOL

I like this one, too. Why is it that some of the large white Phals have a cut in on the upper edge of the outer two petals - must be one of the parents. Does anyone know? Mine has this feature although there is hardly any yellow on its lip.
