Bulbophyllum echinolabium
this is my first and only bulbophyllum in my collection. This orchid is with me since july: I wonder if is it spiking or not?
Imageshack - dscn5146.jpg Imageshack - dscn5147t.jpg Imageshack - dscn5148.jpg Do you think it's time to repot it? In the photos below there is the whole plant Imageshack - dscn5155k.jpg Imageshack - dscn5156.jpg thank you!:) |
I would say that it is a new pseudobulb in the making, though I could be wrong, but that is my first guess.

thank you :)

That is a new psuedobulb. When they are very small new bulbs and spikes look similiar. Pbulbs will fatten up before they grow upward. Spikes will lengthen much quicker. My echinolabium grows Pbulbs and spikes at the same time so I am used to seeing this. If it were my plant I would repot into a slightly larger pot but you could go on awhile in that one as well.
