Hi Diane, Welcome aboard :D

Dens are very different from phals. They need more light, even love sunlight. Some should have rest periods for good results and some do not need any whine down time.

Can you tell us more about your growing conditions?

ok....the light is not direct...its a south facing window..but my plants are on a table not in front of the window..the others are on shelves in a west window that gets most sunlight after 3 or 4pm...thank you di

Have you been able to bloom these dens in your care?
It's possible you may just being seeing some natural dieback from older canes. New canes will continue to grow and replace the ones that are lost from aging.

Where do your flowers bloom from,-- where are the spikes located on the canes?
Do you have any photo's you could show?

Hi Diane...welcome to Orchidboard
You've made a great choice in places to learn about orchids!

Do any of your plants have name tags? They might help us to help you. I have lots of dens and they all take much more light than my phals.

Pictures and/or names and we're on our way! :cheer:

:welcome: Aboard, its great that your here on the OB, our community is world wide as well as different growing conditions.

Taking a shot at this without :photo:s but if your dend has stopped blooming and you see new canes coming up, the yellowing of the leaves is most likely on the adult cane. Eventually the older canes will dry up and at that time can be cut with a sterile knife. In the summer time its not always good to allow your dend to become totally dry and yes they are lovers of humidity. Post some :photo:s so we can determine exactly what we are seeing, I am merely taking a guess...
