Really lovely!

I've fallen in love with these restrpias, I only have two but I just know I will be getting more. One of the nursaries I like to buy from has a guy working there who apprently has arround 200 restrepias in his home, I talked to him for quite a while as I tried to chose the second one I bought from the nursary.

How beautiful! I don't know anything about these - what is the actual plant growth like? e.g. size, temp, bulbs/ fans etc? Also, Rosie, where do you buy from?

They have rounded leaves on long stem that grow out of the rhyzome. No bulbs or fans or anything. The flowers come out from the back of a leaf on a thin stem.

I've found a couple of pics of mine. Not the best, the first shows a plant with a flower, the flower is coming from the back of the nearest leaf. The second pic shows the area arround the Rhyzome where the roots and leaves join, there is a new growth showing red in the foreground.

Sorry, didn't answer the question about where I buy then from in the UK.

I got mine from Burnham Nursaries down near Newton Abbot. I bought one of mine at a show and one when I visited them. As I said above they have someone working there who is a big fan of these. They do mail order as well and I've bought other plants from them that way.

One final thing to add is that they are small plants and the flowers are really really tiny. The flowers always look bigger in pics than they actually are. Some species are bigger than others but they are all small.

Thanks Rosie (x3!) I might investigate these a bit more. I know Burnham well as all of mine have been bought from them either by e-mail or phone :)

Interesting different flower, I'll have to put this kind on my wishlist. Thanks for sharing!
