beginner with two tiny Haraella odorata

I just bought two haraella odorata - and now I need to put them in lovely glass jar. I have a piece of bark and some moss and some fishing line. What I don't understand is how to 'plant' the orchids in the moss on the bark. Do I wrap the moss around the roots of the orchid and attach it to the 10" hunk of bark? the orchid is in soil that looks like tiny bark pieces today. Do I need to include this soil in the moss? Thank you! Send me to a website with this info if you know of one.

Hi Juliet,

Welcome to Orchid Board :welcome:

This is probably not the best place to ask this question as this is part of an intro thread that's really old so is less likely to get seen.

It sounds like you are asking about mounting orchids so I've made a copy of your question in the section on mounting orchids. Here is a link to the new thread I made for your question.

Also take a look at some of the discussions in the 'Growing on Mounts' section because you may find useful help there. Here's a link.

Finally, just in case you need it, here is a link to info on how to create new posts and navigate the forum.

It may also be worth you creating your own thread in this welcome area so everyone can welcome you properly.

If you have any questions about using the forum don't hesitate to ask. You can send me a PM or Sue (cb977) is also a good person to help.
