Staghorn fern
here is a pic of my fern i think you see why i think i am going to need to repot it soon
|
WILD!
Nice one Dennis  |
Wow, great fern! In Brazil we use the same name, 'stag horn', "chifre-de-veado", for Platycerum fern. A friend in Portugal is using the old parts of this type of fern to mount orchids, and it works!

OK Suzanne. Watch it!
"WOW" was what I said when I saw your post, but it took me a minute to realize there were supposed to be eyes. |

Your stag looks great, I am assuming the terra cotta pot is to another plant????
I have a stag that has been in the same wire pot for 12 years, they do not like to be repotted, they attach themselves "shield fronds" and as they age they are green when young but turn brown and papery as they mature. My father-in-law has one that my mother-in-law received for a gift well over 25 years and in the same wire pot as well. Give it a treat with  peels. They are epiphytes and are slow growing. Excellent care   |
