Ascocenda Mimi Palmer X Merrillii X Insigni
Bought as bloomless bargain (about $6.6 / Php300) then it re-bloomed unexpectedly after a month.

Very pretty blooms. Increased watering while they're in bud and bloom helps prevent them from blasting.:)

Does it have a nice scent? |
Thanks for your comment June. Actually I water my chids very well in the morning (about 10 - 15mins spraying) and in the afternoon only when I got home earlier after work/service.
I'll hire some of my customers here to water my chids in the afternoon (in exchange they will play/surf the internet for 1hr :D) |
Naoki,
Yes, nice scent but very slight. |
Oh my! That's lovely!
|
You can actually see traits from all three parents (the colors from Mimi Palmer, the waxy texture of the merrillii, and the big lip from insignis). Very nice plant, but I think it's a pure Vanda, not an ascocenda. :)
|
That is a very interesting cross for sure. Very beautiful !
But I agree with Carl. I think it is a Vanda too , not an ascocenda. Mini Palmer, insignis and merillii are all Vandas and petals/sepals shapes are pretty much Vandas. |
Thanks for your correction carl & philippe. I just followed the tag on the plant and probably they mislabelled it.
|
Absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing!
