Ansellia africana
Very good scented, this Ansellia. It needs to be grown in very bright light.

Beautiful. I saw one of these growing on a dead tree in Kruger National Park, South Africa - it was growing in full sun, no other trees around, and the whole plant was at least six feet across. More flowers on it than you could probably count in an afternoon. Awesome specimen!

beautiful... :-)

Very nice! Your's is quite a bit bigger than mine. Mine just had it second bloom (and first in my care  ) earlier this year. They sure do smell lovely.

Beautiful plant and blooms, Mauro. I can't really take too much of the scent of this species' blooms, however. So it's interesting that your plant produces flowers that are nicely scented.

Great plants and blooms! I got ine last year and now is on my fire escape ina 6 " clay pot in full sun. It is growing 2 more canes, just starting but no blooms yet.
The leaves are a bit lighter and a couple have a bit of sunburn but no damage. It is a beautiful plant, I love the leaves too. Yours looks great and the blooms have a really nice pattern. How old is it? Seems easy to grow. The roots never rot, the canes never shrink. No matter. Maybe great for a novice. |
