Neocogniauxia monophylla
2 Attachment(s)
Well, its official:Neocogniauxia now is firmly in the Pleurothallid alliance.
With that in mind,I pesent my plant with 4 flowers this year.(every year 1 more) Its not an easy plant, but I seem to do well with it. I find that it has very short roots, hardly pennetrating the moos pad to the cork, and can endure higher summer temperatures than the Andean Pleurothallids. I once had the other sp. ,N.hexaptera, and am again looking for it. Enjoy! |
Really pretty, love the cute red.

Unbelievable, looks like a little catt or something like that. Very kool. Must be a missing link between pleuros and the other orchids. haha. Thanks for sharing and giving us the info!

It even appears in the series:Cattleyas and their relatives.! Goes to show that evolutionarily, there are no genuses or families only individuals! |

I wonder if those who rage against the molecular evidence on Laelia vs. Cattleya will be as quick to dismiss this. |
It's so precious!

I'd really like to know where you got this jewel - been looking for it for a long time.
