After I see almost half of your cattleya pictures on this forum, I want to show one of mine. The plant looks very strong and now has 6 flowers. Maybe after the blooming, I'll repot it because the plant seems too big for his actual pot.
I am a new owner of this type and I hope to make them rebloom in the future.:)

Hi Nico :D

WOW! Very nice and healthy looking plant. Also very lovely blooms. I was looking at your photos in the gallery earlier. It sure looks like you got a green thumb! Excellent growing!

 :cheer: I also want to show off my Apple Blossom as I love the whole look of the plant and it's wonderful fragrance! :cheer:
I am also new at orchids and so far the AB has growth from it's base!:Tup:
I also need to repot mine but will wait once the blooms die off. I have yet to find out if, like many other orchids, the apple blossom should be repotted in a container that keeps it's roots tight. :hmm

Happy Growing and Good Health with yours! :D

What will you use as a medium? :hmm

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to share my Apple Blossum transplant story. I divided my plant in November 06 and placed each half in S/H. At the time each plant had 4 pseudobulbs. The plants took nicely to the S/H and even grew another bulb, looks great. But alas, no flowers this year. I guess I transplanted the plant too late in the season, but I felt I had no choice. Hopefully next year I will have flowers. So if your going to divide and you have the choice, this time of year is probably the right time.
Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Linda .. What kind of fertilizing schedule did you have your Apple Blossom on?

Lindafvb 05-06-2007 06:47 PM

Hi Dorothy,
Since the plant is in S/H, I top it off when needed with Dyna-Gro. Roots look great and as I said, the pseudobulbs are also healthy. I am still hoping for buds but at this time I will be pleasantly surprised. Temps. are good for blooming, everything else budded. Just think it was the stress and change of the medium.
