Multiple IDs

Hi everyone,
I have three plants that I would love some help with. The first seems to be either a paph or phrag. Is there any way of telling without a bloom? I picked up the plant for $5 because it had no bloom haha. (I've since repotted it out of the sphagnum moss haha :) ). Another one was tagged as an oncidium (a picture of the flower is attached) but I am not sure. Please let me know what you think. I have another that I expect is an epidendrum/encyclia cross but I'll have to take some pictures tonight and post them. Thanks very much for your help! Cheers, Ryan |
Your Oncidium is probably an inter-generic hybrid with Odontoglossum in it. Perhaps someone can help with a more specific i.d.
Can't help with your Paph/Prag question - Probably someone else can tho :) |
No way of telling even whether the Paph is a species or hybrid without the bloom.

Your 'oncidum' is definitely an intergeneric hybrid, probably with Oncidium, Odontoglossum and Miltonia all playing a part, maybe others. Thousands of similar appearing hybrids. Even if you think you see a perfect match don't be certain you have a positive ID.
The other is definitely a Paph, probably one of the large multifloral types. Without a flower that's as close as you're going to get. |
Thank you very much for the help guys :)!! I really appreciate it.

Here are pictures of my other plant. I expect that it is an epidendrum - encyclia hybrid but I'm not sure. Please let me know what you think. I wish that I had taken a picture of the blooms. The flowers were small and spaced further apart than a reed stem epis blooms. They were yellow and brown with flecks of purple. The plants pretty much grow themselves I swear.
Thanks again for all of your help! Ryan |
