a really nice little book
 

As some of you know, I'm a librarian. I don't often have the opportunity to read Children's book, though, because I spend my time at the Reference Desk. Today, though, I was processing some books and ran across one that I just sat and read while on the Ref Desk. No other choice! The book is called Nubs, by Major Brian Dennis, and is about a relationship he developed with a wonderful stray dog while stationed in Iraq. I liked it enough that even though I don't have young children (mine are all adults now) I'm going to buy a copy of Nubs just because, well, I need it (OK, I'm soft)! And I'd like to recommend it to all pet lovers!

Thanks. I remember reading about it back when it first happened but shared the article with my wife. Juli is even more fanatical about animals than I am, so was thrilled.

In my personal opinion, some of the greatest pets are animals just waiting for a chance to BE a pet!

definitely! and watching them discover things like playing with toys, cuddling, etc. warms my heart!

Speaking of children's books, one of my favorites was a book called "Tabitha." I'd definitely check it out, it's very sweet.
