This big old Lealia is about 12 years old, mounted on 16" x 12" cork, 15 flowers open now and more to come. Outdoors in Los Angeles area, under 40% shade with some sun.

Beautiful! How often do you water it since it is mounted?

Wow nice. I am in the process of adding different purpurata to my collection.

Gorgeous. I love this one as well.

Does anyone know how big they need to be to flower? I have a little one and I keep seeing pics of these massive purpurata in flower and just wonder if I will have to wait for mine to be massive. (At least mine has two growths progressing, so it will get there one day).

This plant was in a 4" pot when I got it and it was in bloom, I mounted it to that cork board after flower and it has grown around the board.

Spring thru Nov. every day with a least one heavy watering and the misters go on at 11am and every 1/2 hour for 2 minutes till 6pm. From Nov. till spring I let mother nature take care of the watering needs.

My mister system does wet the plants, here where I live in this area the RH is often below 30% or more depending on winds and heat, so things dry out quickly.
