Lc. Eva
2 Attachment(s)
Lc. Eva is a primary hybrid (C. aurantica x L. cinnabarina), registred in 1907 by Veitch. The flower spike and the plant global aspect is very similar to L. cinnabarina, and the intense orange color came from both parents. Today Laelia cinnabarina is called Hoffmannseggella cinnabarina, then we need change the hybrid name to "Hoffmancattleya"? (just kidding!)

Why did they change the genus name if this is a primary hybrid? Unless this type of hybrid is also found in the wild? I mean, its not like they don't know what the parents were.
Wow, I really love the color on that one. Absolutely gorgeous!!! COngrats! |
