It was a job.

It really echoes in there - guess I have my work cut out for me now.

Wonderful! /sighs with slight jealously
I especially love the way you addressed the shading.
Lot's of luck to you :)

yes a nice greenhouse >:?) about the size I want but was thinking it would be too small looking at it from the outside..looking inside yours its plenty big for a hobby grower ..excellent job mister :)

Thanks to all!

My plants are responding with roots, leaves and spikes so I guess I'm on the right track.

I love your greenhouse, especially the shade cloth covering. What percentage is the shade cloth? We made the mistake of puting the shade cloth on the inside of the roof, we have been planning to do a similar thing to what you have done. The pics are stunning and will come in useful this summer.

Thank you Fiona,

I used 60% knitted cloth, from my research it seems to be what most people use.

I raised it above the GH to keep the top cooler and it appears to work quite well but it still seems bright in there.

I have a little light meter that reads around 4000fc at midday. That's why I have an additional shade at the west end for the shadier plants.
I think part of the reason too is that the shade is about a foot above the roof and there's not much overhang on the sides so it lets in more light.

It's a work in progress....lots of experimenting still to do.

Have fun with yours,

Maureen

Thank you Maureen, will tackle something once our winter is over!

Congratulations. It will be full in no time. I do have a question. What did you use for the framework for your shade cloth. I want to build one and am a simple girl who doesn't have a lot of building knowledge. I need something easy. Thanks, Betty
