A new leaf on my mini phal!
 

Wahoo! My mini phal has a new leaf growing!

This is my first orchid that I got in December and then promptly almost killed with over watering. It got root rot and lost a total of 5 leaves before it seemed to start recovering.

I didn't expect that it would grow anything so soon. I couldn't believe it when I watering it and saw the new little leaf! This plant is one tough cookie!

Thank you to everyone who helped me save it! It would be compost without your advice.

Yes Rosie...it is in s/h. It does seem to like it...although it still was loosing leaves for a while...of course it was not very healthy when I put it in there. It wasn't until I added bottom heat that it really started to improve. Once I put it on a seeding mat it just took right off!

S/h makes things a lot easier for me. I like how I can water all I want and not worry about over watering.

I have two more mini phals that I got last month and moved into s/h. The took to it without missing a beat. I think it will be my choice of potting medium from now on.
