oh well add it to my noid collection i was told it was a tampensis, what ever it is i counted 60 buds on it tonight so i am definetly not disapointed. thanks for setting me straight on it

Shoot to bad its got a NOID. Those NOID's bug me. Pat is there key to orchid species available?
|
I have a Key to vascular plants of NorthEastern North America but not South Eastern. Shoot!
Assuming its even a native or not a hybrid |
My best guess is Encyclia hanburyi, or a hybrid of it. The main difference I see is the sepal and petal striation lacking, and the side lobes of the labellum are brown. I think I have a variation of Enc. hanburyi that it close to what yours looks like. It is in spike now, and will bloom in a few weeks.
Can you post a picture of the plant? :) Still a very nice plant, the flowers look attractive and plentiful! -Pat |
