Help IDing these plants

Hi guys--

So far all I have grown since getting addicted to orchids is the phal alliance. I was on a recent trip to Hawaii and picked up a few orchids and did not get any phals! But I do not know what these guys are exactly. They are all named but It says things like Epl, Blc, Lc along with the names of these plants. I'd like to get them moved over to s/h as my phals have done so well in this medium. So here they are.

This has Epl Lake View "Angel"

Here are the flowers:

Here are the other plants-- they are small but seem healthy and all have new growth:

And just for kicks, here's an interesting growth on my p. Schilleriana:

Its a flower bud gone weird. I have little hope it'll be a keiki but in the meantime, this plant is growing a new spike!

Thanks for the help.

The new plants are all Cattleya alliance intergeneric hybrids. Check the S/H forum or Cattleya alliance forum for more information.
Epl= Epilaelia (Epidendrum x Laelia)
Lc= Laeliocattleya (Laelia x Cattleya)
Blc= Brassolaeliocattleya (Brassavola x Laelia x Cattleya)

Well you deffinatley have a keiki on your schilleriana. You should be starting to see roots in no time.

Thanks Kip, I appreciate the direction and info. As I mentioned, I've been using hydroponics for a while but have never grown these guys before-- so it'll be interesting to find out if there are any differences in care. Thanks again!

Hi Ted--

Thanks for the post. I have never had a keiki before so I figured it could be one but saw no roots at all. As I mentioned, it started off as a bud and then grew these tiny leaves and then the bud got knocked off during a move to our new home and then suddenly those small leaves grew like mad. I know some buds can get confused and will grow leaves like this, but does that mean it will in fact grow roots or could it just be a messed up bud and will simply keep growing without roots?

I have not seen one yet that did not eventually grow roots. It may take some time just be patient.

It will be extra important that you make the changover when new roots have started to grow.
