Hmm, never heard of it before but it sounds interesting from their website. PRODUCTS No idea if it works for Orchids or not.

If it is very coarse, it might work, but I'd be wary of suffocating the root system.

I am testing this stuff with one of my catts, and its pushing out some nice happy roots and branching roots! its a little experiment ive been working on. I had a phal in the stuff, but it was not in the best condition to start with and i think ive killed it ! D:!

I just took some for you!

when this plant is well established and starts sending out blooms ill make a post about it :)

You can see new roots branching form the old ones in this picture, plus, also you can see the dye form the crystals on the roots. the die seems to not affect it what so ever

Plant just in the crystals

the crystals tend to loose there color quickly, so in my opinion, just stick with white, they will fade anyway and then they wont dye the roots.

Edit: haha the pictures make me look like a boozer! This is my quarenteen zone, as this plant previously had scale.

A couple things I'd be interested in knowing more about:

On their website, they quote a pH range of 5.0-8.5, and that upper end bothers me. is that controllable?

How about algae growth?
