Laelia alaorii
1 Attachment(s)
I have two Laelia alaorii's. One mounted, one small one in a pot. The mounted one is in bloom, but it has not completely opened. It has looked like this for four days.
Any suggestions?? :scratchhead: |
My thought's is that the plant didn't get enough water so it was curled. The other thought is lack of humidity. But I am uncertain since the cattleya alliance can handle dryness.
I think the colours are lovely though |
It's in an orchidarium, roots sprayed daily and humidity around 70-80%.
The colors are nice, I'd just like to be able to really see them ;) |
I haven't got any idea why it is not fully opened if it has enough water and appropriate humidity. :hmm
|
It's the first bloom? Sometimes the first have problems, but next year will be OK.
|
Thats too bad. Looks like great colors. Would anyone reccomend forcing an open.

It's the first bloom for me, but I do see evidence that it has bloomed before. There is something going on with the leaves as well, but I thought it was too much light.

Have you checked for mites?
|
Yea those leaves look a little sickly.
Could it be a nutrient problem? |
I have a bulbo that has yellowish areas like that and it turns out to be root rot. I treated with thiomyl and they seem to be happy campers right now. Just a thought.
