Angraecum longicalcar in flower
Hi everyone,
I'm pretty excited about this one as I've been waiting a while to see this in bloom. It took a while for me to track down a decent sized plant, and then I had to wait a couple of years for it to bloom. Unfortunately the tip of the spike got damaged by a rogue snail (which crawled all the way into my house!) so I didn't get as many flowers on the spike as I would have liked, but just the same I am very happy! I have self pollinated the blooms (as I don't have another plant to cross-pollinate it with) and have several capsules swelling up nicely. http://orchidguru.net/images/Orchid_...ongicalcar.jpg Cheers, Jess |
Very nice! :cheer: Congratulations on the first bloom!

Damn snails!
Lovely blooms! |
Bravo!

Good job, Jess! Beautiful flowers! Keep us updated on the seed pods. Are you going to flask them yourself or send to a lab?
|
Good job, have one of the same family almost popping. Been waiting for a few years for it to show it's true bloom...WTG

Great blooms, congratulations.

Super flowers! Congratulations

Thanks everyone! As for the seedpods I will try flasking them myself. I still get some issues with contamination at times, but I'm getting better at it. Cheers, Jess
