Brown Spots....
So of the 6 plants I have recently purchased. maybe 4 leaves total have small brown areas on the leaves.
Shoul i Cut these off or leave them? |
If they're growing larger, remove them asap.
If they're doing nothing, you're safe. Better yet, post a pic. |
Cool.
I will indeed. What causes this? |
some orchids are prone to getting small spots on the leaves, pics will help with identifying if its problem spots or normal spots. :)
|
cool.
i have only had these since we found an orchid farm on saturday. So i just want to elliminate any problems they may have come with. |

Sometimes root damage. With Oncs and Onc Intergenerics, refrain from misting the leaves. With Disas, you got them in the wrong potting media, and the roots are rotting out because it's too wet (believe it or not). Most others, it's a straight out fungal infection from the environment being to moist and not having enough air circulation. |
Nice. Thank You Phillip
I just printed off a bunch of stuff from AOS. I think after seeing the pics that it may be from exposiure to cold. But @ lunch I will take a bunch of pics. |

I forgot about that one. Yeah. Cold damage makes spots too. |
See, I used to keep reef fishtanks and coral.
I had to get out of that hobby when i moved, and my current location is not permitting for a reef. So these fancy ass plants are really filling the caretaker niche for me right now! Once my current plantts are done flowering, im going to set up a terrarium I think. then i can get more orchids that bloom @ different times of the year! |
I used to own a few reef tanks myself.
It just got too expensive. Plus I moved a few times. At the moment I don't foresee myself getting back into the reef hobby just yet. |
