OK! I seen leafs rot and fall off, but this one shows no signs of rot anywhere, still green, fleshy and firm and the end now is a little brown, cus this happend last night, its so clean the end, like it was cut...wierd!

That's really strange, I would expect to see at least some sign of rot for it to fall off like that.

It's bad news for that Phal, wonder if it will grow again from the crown or whether you need to hope for a basel keiki.

Yes Rosie, very odd!! the end surely looks cut, the plant has very good color and firm, shows no sign of being sick or stressed.

There is a line arround the base of every leaf which is like a joint between the part that wraps arround the stem and the actual leaf.

When a leaf is going to be shed naturally it will come away at that point, but usually that only happens once the leaf is almost completely brown and dead. At the point when it's dead the leaf will come away with a gentle tug and will leave a very straight line where it came away.

Until that point the joint is usually very strong, but the straight edge on this leaf indicates to me that it has broken at this line, I just wouldn't expect it on the center leaf and without the leaf drying up a lot first. :hmm

I have had this happen a couple of times. Most recently with a Phal. equestris v. alba. When I bought the plant the center leaf looked a little funky and it eventually died, but not rot. The plant is currently growing its 3rd new leaf from the center. The new leaves are much smaller, but the plant overall still appears very healthy.

so that place I think looks cuts, must be where that line is your talking about.
The leaf that fell off looks very healthy, nothing strange about it all.

That leaf looks pretty darn healthy to me. I had a phal shed a new leaf after it got too cold but is now growing another one. Maybe there's still hope!

hhmmm!! you know Tropicgirl, I kept my plant right by an open window and that one happens to be the closest, I leave the window open all the time and it has gotten kind of cold here at night

I don't know how long that leaf sat in there unattached to the plant, I occasionally give a lite tug on all my plants to check if crowns are rotted under medium level that I can't see, checked it and off it came.
