Hello from England

Hello everyone,

I'm an orchid newbie. I bought one locally (a yellow and orange veined Phalaenopsis Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Golden Treasure') then saw there was a large orchid exhibition in my city about two weeks later. I went there and well. . . you can imagine, wow, nice, want some!:)

I've been into growing tropical and subtropical plants for over 20 years, but never got into orchids. I think the main reason was back then there wasn't the Internet, and orchids generally had a reputation of being very hard to cultivate, so I think that kind of kept me away. But now, well, there is a whole world of possibilities and varieties, and I want to be part of that!

Here is what I have so far (over the last six weeks).

1) Phalaenopsis Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Golden Treasure'
2) Burr. Sonnenberg (that's all that was on the label, but looks like a nice Odontoglossum or mixed hybrid)
3) Phalaenopsis Karin Aloha
4) Doritaenopsis 'Classic' (looks very similar to Leopard Prince)
5) Cymbidium Fort William Hamsey
6) Odontoglossum Bic-Ross x Astmo = Lyoth Desire (fatter petal one)
7) Odontoglossum Bic-Ross Lyoth Minnow
8) Wilsonara Durham Fire var. Lyoth Supreme
9) Cambria 'Nelly Isler' (Burrageara Nelly Isler)
10) Doritaenopsis Chain Xen Pearl
11) Paphiopedilum micranthum var. eburneum x sibling (I think he might be getting is first flower) :D

I have one Doritaenopsis that I'm seeking very much, but will post that on the relevant board,

Thanks, :)

Welcome to Orchid Board from a fellow Brit.

You've made a great start. I have a Nelly Isler I bought just recently and I'm loving it

I saw your other post about searching for a particular hybrid but I can't help I'm afraid :(
