Are you UK resident or maybe visiting in early June? You may be interested in the Tatton Park annual Orchid show.

Saturday June 5th and Sunday 6th, Orchid House open about 1-4pm

"The largest annual orchid event in the North West featuring many rare orchid exhibits and the sale of exotic orchids." Or so the site says
Also apparently the home of one of the finest examples of a Japanese Garden in Europe, which is nice.

Hopefully this will be my first Orchid show if I can get the time of work and nothing goes wrong before now and then... Wish me luck. :crossfing

The calender part as referred to on the sticky in this section... Wasn't quite sure what to do there? Two day event and all? Does it matter much?

You can set it up as a recurring event...say the show lasts for 3 days...you would enter the info for the first day and then confirm that it will "recur" on the 2nd and 3rd day.

You can also set it as a "range"...list the dates from the first day through the last day.

Writing it out here makes it seem complicated but it really is not a big deal. If you need any help, let us know :Tup:

Heh I'm glad you reminded me about this - it's in my neck of the woods and I'm definitely intending to go! I think Burnham nurseries are coming - I'll have to check.

Quite a long way north from me, but I may have to think seriously about going.

I'm so looking forward to it, looks like a cracking place to visit even without the Orchid show :D

My hubby says Tatton Park is nearer than I thought. It's near some of his relatives and he thinks a trip up there is quite doable.

Well I'll take a comment like that from him as a green light, I guess I'm very likely to be there, just got to check I'm not already booked up that weekend. :biggrin:
