:) Hi, i am reading abook called the orchid thief by SUSAN ORLEAN, its atrue story, has any body read it, its great.

They made that book into a Movie called "Adaptation" with Nicolas Cage and Merrle Streep I do recommend to read the book first. I hike that very same area and have many of Pic in my gallery from there even of the Ghost Orchid made famous from that book. Enjoy

I haven't bought it yet. But I saw an advertisement. May be I'll get it if it is so nice .... :roll:

Read it, thought it was OK. Adaptation sucked, dont waste money on it.

If you havent read it yet, i think you'll like Orchid Fever by Eric Hansen way better. Its a compilation of mini stories about orchids and certain growers from around the world. A must read in my opinion.

I've read the Orchid Thief about 3 times, I love it!
I wouldn't recommend the movie, Adaptation,as someone else said. it sucks!

Everyone also has to read Orchid Fever, A Horticultural Tale of Love, Lust, and Lunacy

The movie bit dust...I would like to strongly recommend you skip it....

The book was pretty good. I also like Orchid Fever if you're looking for a good beach read!

I started but couldn't get into it as I found her writing style quite grating so it's currently on hold while I'm re-reading some classics.

Orchid Fever's great!

I read "Orchid Thief" some time ago, its cool but portuguese translation had some problems (as italians say, "tradutore, traditore"). The movie is not so good. I'll search for "Orchid Fever", never heard about!
