Sophronitis coccinea in S/H?
Has anyone tried Soph. coccinea in S/H?
I saw a display of these at Longwood Gardens yesterday and is it now at the top of my must have list. Culture seems pretty straight forward for in-house under lights or window sill growing. Any other tips/tricks anyone might know? Cheers. Jim |
I am hoping someone has grown this in s/h, I'd like to know too.

S. coccinea is a bit too much of a cool grower for my conditions, but based upon an entry in orchidspecies.com, it sounds like a good match:
"Good ventilation, cool to cold temperatures, bright light and a wet environment with regular fertilizer year round will keep this minature [sic] plant thriving." |
I saw that one to in the edwardian case. Im on the search for it as well. If you find some post it or pm me Please!

Definately fabulous orchids! The Masdie next to them were pretty cool too. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...2/DSCN0943.jpg |

Curious if anybody tried the S/H on this plant

I managed to get a flask of them from equagenera and deflasked them. I lost half of them trying them potted but when I mounted them, I am doing well with them so far.
