Newly in bloom, 3-24
I have three new pretties in bloom today, two of which are previous bloomers for me.
Phal. mannii. I think the flower looks a bit stronger this year: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...umbs/pman2.JPG Phal. philippinense. I didn't expect any flowers this year because the plant is ailing a bit from my move. These were stronger last year: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...bs/pphil21.JPG Phal. zebrina. I hope that someone more expert than I can tell me how this differs from Phal. sumatrana. When I hold the two together I can't see any major differences, though the zebrina's lip may have slightly heavier striping and is a bit flatter: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...umbs/pzeb1.JPG Thanks for looking! |
Those are all killer! Where'd the zebrina come from?
|
Royal, I THINK it came from Dowery, but am not positive.

Gorgeous mannii and zebrina!! Both very pretty.

John, these are magnificent! The zebrina is on my next serious phal. search. It may be one in the same as sumatrana but, like you, I have to have it! My sumatrana hasn't bloomed yet......hopefully a spike will appear soon.
