Coconut Husk Fiber

Hello,

I am about to repot some phals and I am preparing for some bare roots cattleyas and laelias. Most of my orchids are potted in bark and they are ok.

Recently I've bought coconut husk fiber (the product name is Neopeat) and it is a condensed: from 650 g of neopeat, mixed with 3 liters of water, you obtain 10 liters of pot media.

I am wandering: can I use this coconut husk fiber mixed with bark for phals and catts? Maybe is good to add that I use to water my plants once a week or less. Thank you very much! :)

Is it chunks of the fibers or ground up into finer medium like a dirt? If it's ground up I don't think it will be good, it holds lots of water.

I think it is fiber. But, since I haven't tried to put it in the water, it may be dirt... :( You give me a good idea: to sink it in the water and see what happens. Thanks :)
