Dendrobium scabrilingue

A specie from Mynamar (Burma), Thailand and Laos.
Small size plant with waxy fragant flowers. The lip, yellow at first, turns orange after a few days.

I "discovered" this one at a show last year and fell instantly in love!

It and Den oligophyllum are my two fave Dens :cloud9:

Calvin, I have mine in a net basket with no media, giving it full sun (actually about 20% shading through the screening of the lanai) and it's just coming out of a semi-rest for winter :crossfing

Thanks Susanne, Calvin and Kim.

Calvin, this Dendro can be grown in cool to hot conditions. For myself, in the hot weather of Bangkok, it is mounted. About the rest, It rests from December to March-April. But not too strict, I water the plant one to two times a month depending of the heat.

I like this species, too.
The fragrance is really great!

I too bought one of these last year and it put out tons of new growths over the summer, but I must have done something wrong, as most of the growths seemed to die off...
I do still have a few growths left, so hopefully it will pull through...Perhaps I watered too much ??

Congratulations on the flowers and the wonderful photography.

Thanks everyone !

Laura , I give a quite strict "rest" to this specie during wintwer and bright light. The canes don't have any leaves (or very few) during this period.

Thanks carl for nice post !

Thanks Philippe, hopefully mine will pull through this year and I can do a better job of tending to it this winter!
