What kind of orchid is this?

Not sure what kind of orchid I have here. Thank you for any guidance. |
This a Dendrobium... I would dare to say that it is a species or hybrid within the Latouria Section (see D atroviolaceum, D. convolutum, D. eximium, D. rhodostictum and D.tapiniense for examples..)
it remidns me of D. shiraishii and D. convolutum, but there is something "wrong" on the lips and the petals... Most probably this is an hybrid between Latouria species, or with a high percentage of Latouria in it. These plants require intermediate to warm conditions, with regular watering throughout the year. |

I thought it might help to add some current, non-flowering photos. This one has lost half its stalks, so I'm a bit worried. It used to flower once every three months, and would flower for over a month, but has been dormant for six months. I have moved, so am still trying to find the perfect spot for it. I have posted the pics in the disease section as well, because of the black and see-thru spots, as well as the light discoloration. Kavanaru: when you say "wrong," do you mean that it is a hybrid, or there is something wrong with the flowers? i just want to be clear, because when it first flowered I was worried about the spots, but soon thought they were part of the normal coloration. btw: they are about one inch wide. |
leutolia type or wrong spelling.... sure its a dendro!
