New from GVOS show

http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/u...-23-100680.jpg These are my purchases from the GVOS show last weekend. The first pic is the total of my purchases, the second is my new Oncid. Twinkle. The Twinkle is not exactly white, I was told it is peach. I prefer white but the shape of this plant was exceptional so I couldn't resist it. The pot is one I purchased at the show. I have been busy repotting my purchases and recording them in my computer, both in Excel and also a seperate sheet for each individual plant with a pic of the plant when purchased, when repotted, and also a pic of the flower if it is in bloom. It takes time, but I have a record to compare when it was new and what it looks like any given time later. I find that info to be very useful. Marilyn |

Thanks for sharing. I need the vicarious thrill of coming home with a couple of dozen at a time.
I can't do this anymore. I finally have enough fast growers to fill the space many times over. |
Marylin, I have an Oncidium "Twinkle" that was definately white when I bought it last year. It started spiking last september and didn't finally bloom until 2 weeks ago. The first blooms had a rust color and the later blooms were finally white.
I think this was from me using too much fert and superthrive. I just started using the superthrive and learned I needed to cut back on my fert schedule. So maybe it'll change colours next year? Anyhoos, it's still a nice plant. Happy growing! |
