Some catasetum babies

I would like to share some pictures of my recent deflasking seedlings of a cross I made last year from catasetum callosum x macrocarpum. Now they are trying to adapt to the real world, let's see how many will survive in the next months . By the way I also deflask a cross between tabulare x macrocarpum as a matter of fact the bottle I am showing is one that belongs to that cross. They will come out soon, possibly next week.

Good luck with these Bruno! I'm excited to see what the flowers look like after a few years.

Bruno, I'd be interested to hear how you care for your babies. I have a very small expansum that I'm trying to keep alive. Any hints would be appreciated.

:)

Shirley I just keep them togheter in a humid place watering every day (slightly) receiving some ammount of indirect light. I use plastic or clay pots with medium composed of palm tree fiber with dead wood, same medium in which they gowth on trees in nature. After two weeks after deflasking I start giving them some food. For you I would suggest using spagnum moss as a culture media and fertilze heavily (very week) when is in a growing stage. Hope this hints help you.

Thanks, Bruno. I'll do my best! This little plant didn't go dormant over the winter, still has a tiny green growth, so I've been watering it every few days.

:)
