I was just given a orchid, the stick reads-
Phal Sogo Yukidian x Phal Taisuco Doll. P0309-S
(A)medium white

I have no idea how to care for it properly. Could I plz get some info about it & careing for it. Thx

Tap is okay, I like to use RO/DI. I use RO/DI because I own plants that don't tolerate poor water quality or water high in dissolved minerals.

Clear plastic container? You mean clear plastic pot, right?

What's the potting medium? Bark? Moss (if you just bought it and did nothing to it, it most likely is this one)?

If it's moss, I don't recommend growing them potted completely in moss. It was just too troublesome for me, and for many other people as well. There're other reasons other than it was a pain. It's all in the "Beginner's Discussion" forum.

The roots of a Phalaenopsis can photosynthesize, I'd keep growing it in a clear plastic pot.

BTW, keep the "stick" (it's the name tag or plant tag). You'll need this to identify the plant in your collection when the number of plants in your collection increase. It's also useful when you get bored of it and would like to sell it.

If the writing on it fades, you need to replace it with a new one in order to label your plant correctly.
