Phal Center Stage 'PR Cockleshell'
This was one of the first chids I had way back when.... that's when I knew less than what I know now.... and I don't know much more today  !!!!! Anyway, the plant got crown rot and I was able to keep it alive for about two years after hoping it might grow a basal keiki. It never did and finally it died! It is a rather difficult hybrid to find but I located one at PC Orchids and another at Pine Ridge Orchids. Question: Has anyone had any experience with PC Orchids directly or through their ebay storefront? And what are the chances that the "PR" is for Pine Ridge?
If anyone has some leads as to other vendors that might sell this hybrid, I'd love to hear from you... :thankyou |
Howard, all I can offer are leads:
The originator of the cross was John Ewing Orchids, Inc. 487 White Road, Watsonville, California, CA 95076. The cultivar is actually 'Pine Ridge Cockleshell' (and has an AM/AOS, by the way), so that suggests Terry Glancy at Pine Ridge Orchids might be worth contacting. I'd start there. |
Thanks, Ray. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this investigation. The tag from my, now dead plant, said 'PRO Cockleshell', but would I be safe in saying that it really should have said "PR" for Pine Ridge? Anyway, THANK YOU.

PRO could also mean Pine Ridge Orchids - just a sloppy copy, in my mind.

Howard,
I have ordered plants from Connie at PC Orchids before. I would recommend them to anyone. They have some really nice plants. |
