My Angel Snake is gone.
2 Attachment(s)
Last week I lost my Angel snake. I had her for around 4 years. I don't know what happened as she seemed fine a couple of days before. I guess, it's just too difficult to know when a snake doesn't feel good. Because her death was unknown I took my other snake, Lilly, to the place I bought her and had them look her over. She seems fine and is doing well. I think we will never know what happened to Angel.

Oh Amanda! I am soooooo sorry!
*hugs* It's so hard when you don't know why your animal has died. I'm glad your other snake seems to be ok. |
Sorry to hear of your loss! I know there is no "replacing" her, but will you get another one like her?
|
Thanks you guys.
It is hard, especially when you don't know what was wrong. We are going to get another snake like her. We just didn't find one at the reptile store when we went. Angel was full of personality (aka, hateful), so we want another sweet snake, like Lilly. |
Amanda-You have my deepest sympathy! It is so sad to loose a pet, especially when there were no signs of illness! I am glad Lilly is doing OK!!

Very sorry Amanda .. Hugs

Awwww, Amanda :( I'm so sorry your snake Angel passed.
I hope Lily likes her new friend. |
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I've had a pet corn snake most of my life since I was 14. Alexander died when my mother put his aquarium in the sun. At least I knew what caused it. It's hard to find a vet who knows anything about reptiles.
Again, I'm sorry for your loss. What a beautiful snake she was. |
What a beautiful corn snake! I had them for years -- I'm down to just geckos now. There's no snake like a corn snake, though. Best snakes in the world.
You may not have done anything wrong, dear. Unless you bought her as a tiny hatchling, you don't actually know for sure how old she was. Do you even know for sure that she was female? I had a corn snake once who was really a corn snake / Texas rat hybrid, and he brumated every fall. We had to essentially tuck him into a shoebox in the basement to hibernate. This worked well for nearly 10 years, then one year he started to slow down earlier than usual, went into his whole brumation thing, and didn't make it to spring. Who knows why? So don't beat yourself up. I can tell from your photos that you take great care of your snakes -- they have fabulous housing such as most pet snakes never even see! Now Lilly can take advantage of your full attention and love. Hang in there. |
sorry to hear of your loss.
hugs to you. |
