Dendrobium signatum
This Dendrobium exists also with two purplish blotches at the base of the lip.

Lovely. Do you have a pic of the other one?

Nice egg colour. I always like that colour combo.

It's beautiful, Philippe. Mine is just now starting to show the swellings on the pseudobulbs that I hope will turn out to be flowers in a couple of months. Do the blooms on your plant have any scent? How big is the plant--height, number of pseudobulbs?

Thanks all of you.
Kim , I do not have pict of the other one. But I have bought another plant recently and I hope it will be the second kind with the 2 blotches. Steve, mine doesn't have any fragance or if yes, a very light one. The pseudbulbs are between 35 and nearly 50 cm (13 Inches to 19 Inches if I'm right). I bought those pants adult and there are as many as 15 pseudobulbs. Flowers are waxy and long lived. |
Thank you, Philippe. Your description confirms that I have an adult plant. I bought it from a grower in South Florida, and none of the pseudobulbs (there are at least twenty in the pot, with over half in the 35 to 40 cm range in height) have the remains of old flower spikes. I'm hoping that by giving it a fairly cool and dry winter, I can coax it into blooming (instead of producing keikis!). Thank you again for your response.
