Hi;
I photographed this wildflower in medium elevations in Ecuador,it grew on slopes by the road. I took a bulb home, and its flowering now at home. Obviously an Iris relative. Any ideas? thanks spiro. |
It looks like a tigrida but not quite sure.I am almost positive but just the bloom is not quite enough to tell ....tht leaves shold look almost identical to a iris but with the leaf blades along a stem instead of a fan at ground level

No, sorry I should have described it more ;
The leaves are more or less like a Gladiolus,it stands about 1.5 feet tall, and it flowers consecutivaly from the same bud. The flowers (in cult at least) last one day. |
yep its a tigridia by that description ...THat is exactly how the foliage and blooms wold look and do
