Den oligophyllum in water culture
It looks like this little Den has the mermaid genes too. The plant I bought this Spring fell apart and 1 part was put in S/H and this one in water culture. This one tried to bloom once before but I cut of all buds to encourage root growth, instead. As you can see it has beautiful new roots. The one in S/H is also growing OK but has not yet bloomed.

Laura and Susanne has better photos of the flowers I link to below. It was because of Susanne photos that I learned about this great little bloomer in the first place. http://www.orchidboard.com/community...gophyllum.html |

Great save!
I'm glad you posted these pictures, I thought that dens had to dry between waterinig. Is it just this one or can others be planted in s/h or water? I seem to dry mine out too much. |

I have 5 or 6 of these and I am going to try water culture with one and I will let you know.

edub9 this is a really old thread and most of the people who took part are no longer on the forum.
It might be best to ask a question in the Dendrobium section if you want help saving them. |
Interesting culture. Thanks for sharing. |
