Definitely a strange one...
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_1651.jpg
My sister in law bought two of these back in january, one fer herself, one for me. Mine had no tag, and hers died. She has been looking for the tag but can't find it. Anyhoos, it finally bloomed. Please don't tell me it's some sort of cactus or succulent. :bua: btw, the flower is about 1/4" wide if that helps, definitely a miniature. |
It's not a cactus or succulent, it's an orchid and a Dendrobium of some kind, but it is very difficult to tell which without seeing the blooms more closely.

I was gonna guess Cattleya family.

No, not Cattleya. Saw the flowers, they're difficult to spot, so I understand why you'd say Cattleya jkofferdahl (there are quite a few rupicolous species of Laelias - quite honestly it was my first guess too).
It's a Dendrobium sp. I recognize the flowers from some pics on Andy's Orchid's website. If your plant looks like these, then it's Dendrobium rigidum. http://www.orchidsinourtropics.com/u...um_rigidum.jpg http://www.wilkorchids.com/resource/DenRigidum.jpg http://www.orchidweb.com/images/denrig1b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3380/...906cc8.jpg?v=0 |
looks like Dendrobium rigidum (Dockrillia rigida)
IOSPE PHOTOS however, the picture is not clear enough... |

Thanks for the correction! Cool little flower - and you're right, I didn't notice the flower when I first posted (though I'd still have been wrong). |
