Jumellea confusa

I picked this plant up sometime this summer though I can't remember when :scratchhead: - hung it on the back grod wall of the greenhouse where it receives East morning light and a fair amount of water. When I noticed that it started to set bud, I relocated this beauty to the Orchidarium and this morning, this is what I found...very fragrant and the flower is just too cool!
If you don't have one of these in your collection, you should consider getting one - very easy to grow and very rewarding! Enjoy! |
It's cool alright. Seeing that you are in Jacksonville I could grow as I live in SW Georgia. Where did you get? - I've never heard of. I assume that it belongs to the vanda family since you posted here?????

I purchased this plant from Big Oak Orchids
Dave and Kathy Konkol 920-836-2985 davidkaye1@aol.com www.bigoaksorchids.com Their site seems to be down but maybe if you sent them an email.... |
Quite nice. I'm seeing that type for the first time.

That is cool! I've seen pics of the flower before but not the whole plant. Thanks for doing that. That nectar spur is amazing!

An excellent choice and a premium example of the fantastic-ness that is angraecoid :)
You have a very healthy plant - keep this up and soon you'll have cuttings galore to trade/give/sell! :) |
Very cool plant and flowers, Dana. Jumelleas are definitely one of the more under-appreciated genuses of orchids.

Very nice. I hope I have the conditions for these.
