Help with Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Hercules'
I just ordered Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Hercules' from Kartuz Greenhouses. Does anyone grow these? Is anyone familiar with these?
I have another type of Zantedeschia that is currently growing again in a small pot. How do you care for Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Hercules'? Does it like wet soil? Moist? Dry? And what temperatures do they prefer? How about lighting? Thanks |
I remember the giant Zantedeschia aethiopica in my old aunties home, 35 years ago....they grew in the backyard, on soil, no special needs, in a semi-shaded place, and were easy bloomers (I destroyed several flowers - shame on me! - to make fake swords). The weather were (and still is) hot and rainy, and the plant was realy big, use a extra-large pot! To remember our childhood is always a sweet memory!

Thanks!! I appreciate the input. Growing anything in Brazil must be easy. :(

Yes, it's easy, except in the case you need a cool and dry resting period (Coelogyne cristata, Stan. lietzei and wardii, lots of Dendros...). Unfortunately due weather easiness I became a little bit lazy with some plants...
