Laelia purpurata is a dangerous orchid... if you get in touch with it, chances are that it passes you a virus that has no cure at all! :rofl:!!

Yea I got bit by the bug. I am in the process of collecting different varieties of purpurata as we speak.

Fine taste, Stitz, because these two, especially the darker roxo-violeta and vinicolor, are really impressive orchids!

Mauro, I've done everything I could think of. I bought a new computer, got all the bells and whistles I could find, and STILL, your virus got through, and infected everything. Purpurata fever has me in its vice like grip! Thanks. :biggrin:

This species can be viewed in Nov/Dec from the Southern Hemisphere and in May/June from the Northern Hemisphere!
