I got this when I was on vacation in California in August (I live in New Hampshire). I have absolutely no idea what it is, but I do know that it does have an id--it had one when I bought it, but when I got home with it, the id tag was nowhere to be found. It was blooming back in August. The brown on the pseudobulb is just some spilled cinnamon. Any ideas?
thanks

Oncidium Alliance hybrid. As for a specific name, that may be a problem with so many hybrids out there.

Thanks so much! This will really help me as far as care.

I am almost 100% positive this is a Wilsonara Hot Spot.

See my photo. The blooms are 2" or so and spike like Oncidiums...multiple buds on really tall spikes.

Mine were over 3 feet tall.

wow! That looks remarkably similar to what I have. How do you care for a Wilsonaria?

Looks like it was potted into potting soil. If so, get it out of that and put it into a nice orchid bark mix.

Jim, its looks like it could be pro-mix. It would do very well as long as you know how to water in this type of media.
The orchid looks healthy :)
