Hi, Can someone's Give advice on a type/brand of paint for my new DIY craigslist greenhouse? The frame is made of pressure treated wood. Glass windows from Craigslist.

Basement paint?
Deck paint?

Very humid. I built the house over my koi pond's shower filter. Any help will be appreciated. Lori

Hi there I don't know what the paint is but I believe its like a whitewash type paint. Couldn't you use shade cloth? The GH looks great I love the windows and having it over the Koa pond will be great for humidity. I am sure someone will come up with the correct paint name.

Good Luck - Sheridan

If i were you i would use some kind of epoxy paint for the inside but make sure everything is dry becuse if not the paint will bubble.

I really can't recommend any type of paint, but have you considered using a exterior wood sealer/stain? They even make a water base type now. It would help protect the wood from the high moisture that you'll be having.

As for the outside, any type of exterior house paint will be fine. Just be sure to caulk all the cracks. If you have really large gaps, you might want to use expandable foam.

But I think regular wood sealer for fences and decks would be best for the inside.

I allowed treated wood to dry for three months, then used oil-based primer, and finally painted with three coats of high-quality exterior house paint. I used white to reflect maximum light back onto plants. I have to clean mildew, but the paint is holding up well.

I like this idea. Especially the "dry" three months.:dance13::dance13:
I had to cover the whole thing, pond and all to keep the heat in.
The orchids seem to love their new home.
I almost lost them this fall. Time and a false boob issue crept up on me. The orchids were still outside.
Now I am slowly working on a P/T slatted floor to get out of the mud. I spent my gravel money on "Icky and the squidlets." a frozen orchid and flask.:dumb::violin:
Next I have to have carpol tunnel tunnel surgery on both hands. The things we do for love. Thanks again. I have millions of questions. My brain is back wards. I just don't get language. I am trying real hard.:blushing: Lori
