Orchids From Ikea, Paphiopedilum Maudiae?
 

Hi Everyone.

I bought two orchids from Ikea in the summer, two semi-circular pots in one
(|) = Some thing like this.

On the plant pot it is labelled Pahpiopedilum, are they paph's or slipper orchids (or are they the same?)?

WHen i bought them they were in bloom, but the flowers died off fairly quickly (within a month or so). I have one with a white head (top part of flower) and one with a purple head. I have attached a picture of the type they are which i found on google.

Can anyone specify what type they are?

And if possible when and with what i should re-pot them?

The term Slipper Orchid includes Paphiopedilum, Mexypedium, Phragmipedium, Cypripedium and... don't remember now the other one... so.. Paphiopedilum is a Slipper Orchid :)

Your plants are Maudiae type hybrids, but there are so many different hybrids of this type (many of them looking very similar to each other) that it will be impossible to say what they are...

one is sure.. The ones shown here are not Paphiopedilum Maudiae! The spots (the warts on the petals of Paph Maudiae are different!: mainly few warts only on teh upper edge of the petals!)
