fungus on phal?
Are these spots fungus, how can i threat it, with contact or systematic fungicides?http://www.orchidboard.com/community...m/img_7148.jpg

It looks more like a mite than a fungus. Can you wipe it off with a paper towel or Q-tip?

yes, these orchid become sick in orchidarium, where is extremly high humidity.

It's either mites or a rust fungus. Both will wipe off the plant quite easily. If it's mites you should be able to see some really small webbing on the leaf, but you need to look very closely to see them!

Can you make a sharper picture from the underside of the leafs? I think I see leaf damage that could be caused by mites. I had a mite severe mite infection on a Phal. pulchra, those mites were the same rusty color. Despite the severe infection I never saw webbing :-( The mites mainly hided between the leafs and stem, that is were the main damage was done to my plant.
I can't rule out fungus based on this picture, sorry. Do other plants in the orchidarium have the same damage? Nicole |
quite certain it's red spider mites. could try malathion!
