Echinolabium bloom

My Bulbophyllum echinolabium has bloomed and I could not be more happy with it. It is a fascinating plant in my book. The form, color and odor are out of this world! I think I need more Bulbos and a Pleurothallid or two.

WOW, that's fantastic. Big Bulbo fan here too. I had this one which rotted in the dead of summer, last year. I think I need to replace it after seeing yours.

Enjoy!

I think this is my favorite bulbo!
Great job with blooming yours.
Mine bloomed several months ago and respiked just a few weeks ago. I have it hanging high in the orchidroom and the smell always takes me by surprize!
You'd think that I'd get used to it after awhile, but I'll be watering and wonder if something on the farm has died and then I look up!

The weird ones are the best! Just how stinky is this one?

Thank you all for the comments. The first day it opened the odor was fairly strong and smelled like rotten meat. Today the smell has toned down a bit and has a somewhat swampy component to it. No one can smell it once they are out of arms length. This is a good thing because it is surely not something you want wafting around your house!
